Triangle Wizard

Hello!  I recently picked up Triangle Wizard again after quite a few releases, and have been enjoying myself.  However, I do have a couple of suggestions and questions.  I understand the saving after descending stairs for a perma-death character, but when I load a "bad" level off of a permanent character it irks me (any way to change it to save before you descend?).  I also wanted to know why it shows the stairs after you descend; you can't go back up them, correct?  And finally, any way to get rid of spells if you accidentally pick one up you don't want (without a shop)?  Thanks!
